Well, we are in need of some imaginative assistance in conniving next year’s payback Christmas gift for Anna and Zac! Let me preface the story by saying that Paul’s youngest sister Anna recently became engaged to Zac. Now Zac lives on six acres with two barns, a pond, and several tractors. Yet, despite his immense amenities he fails to own a single animal of any kind – not even a cat! We’ve been joking with Zac that he should have a few chickens at the very least. Why own six acres if you’re not going to utilize them in some fashion, right? We celebrated Christmas with Paul’s family on Christmas Eve, and you will never believe what Anna & Zac gave us! Anna walks over nonchalantly and hands Paul this average sized box wrapped in standard Christmas paper with an innocent bow situated on top. Paul tears the paper off, not expecting anything unusual. As he pulls of the wrapping paper, we read “egg incubator” on the outside of the box. Before we have time to fully process what Paul just opened, Anna begins tossing dozens of brightly colored plastic Easter eggs at us and excitedly informs us that we are to be expecting eggs in the mail – not 3 or 5 or even 10 eggs but TWENTY-EIGHT eggs! That’s right, 28 mystery eggs! Are they chicken eggs or turkey eggs or iguana eggs? Or some glorious combination? Anna and Zac just smiled knowingly and refused to divulge the type of eggs we are to be expecting. But whatever variety, 28 eggs of some kind will be arriving at our home within the week. It’s time for Paul to put away the swarm traps he’s been building and construct some kind of foul housing. The best part, though, is that Christmas comes again next year and revenge is sweet! We could gift Zac & Anna with the 12 days of chick-mas. Duck the halls with peafowl and holly fa-la-la-la-la-la also sounds like a good option. The rooster is crowing, poor Anna awakes… They want a baby Holstein calf for Christmas, only a baby Holstein calf will do! The possibilities really are endless. We’re open to suggestions, and we have a whole year to plan, so please share your genius ideas with us in the comments below!
